Description

The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) survey will provide spectra of millions of quasars and Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) out to redshifts of 4 and beyond. These will provide both an excellent tracer for large-scale structure at these redshifts and an extraordinary dataset for understanding the impact of AGN on their host galaxies and larger-scale environments enabling a better understanding of their astrophysics as well as the influence they might have as an outlier to photometric measurements. In this presentation we will detail the strategy behind the DESI multi-wavelength identification of AGN and QSOs within the survey, their completeness and the changes in their respective number densities and host properties over time.
