Founded in Munich in 1966, Baader Planetarium specialises in the supply, installation and support of selected high-end robotic telescopes and are a manufacturer of premium quality all-sky and classic slit type observatory domes. They also produce a very wide range of accessories including filters and mechanical adaptors for astronomy and are the sole UK/European distributor of PlaneWave Instruments (telescopes & mounts) and 10Micron mounts.
Our customers are universities, research institutions and observatories and include the Open University, MPI, ESA and NASA. We have to date produced and installed over 600 observatory domes and remote robotic observatories from 2m to 8.5m diameter around the world under harsh environments, from arctic climate to desert conditions, for a wide range of scientific applications that include astronomical teaching, research and public outreach as well as satellite tracking and laser communication and space situational awareness (SSA).
