Moon Palace project empowers students to bring science and culture to local communities

The Moon Palace

Inspiration at NAM continues into the evening! While the days at NAM are filled with cutting-edge science, our evening public events bring the wonders of the Universe to everyone — from conference attendees to curious minds across the community. Join us at Durham University’s Teaching and Learning Centre for a variety of events.

All events are free and open to all — no booking required.

Learn about the cosmos with captivating talks on explosive supernovae, experience the Supermassive Podcast live, and immerse yourself in the magic of astronomy at the Moon Palace mobile observatory. Before the talks, you can explore interactive exhibits and even step inside a working observatory on wheels.

Curious about the latest discoveries? Don’t miss our exciting 3-Minute Thesis Challenge, where young researchers bring big ideas to life — in just 180 seconds!

Whether you're a lifelong stargazer or just beginning your journey, there’s something for everyone. Come and join our Community - Science through connection.
